Once an order has been placed, the transaction is processed manually at the premises of H.A McParland Ltd by our registered pharmacists who are members of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

This website should be regarded as an invitation to treat. Any order placed by a customer is an offer to purchase, which H.A McParland Ltd may accept or decline in its absolute discretion without having to give a reason. A confirmation email is notification that we have received your offer on our website. A contract is deemed to be made at the point of a sale invoice being issued by H.A McParland Ltd following checking of orders by a pharmacist.

On placing an order, you will receive an email stating that the order has been ‘processed’, ’declined’ or ’cancelled’. This preliminary email does not guarantee delivery of the goods.

Goods are only confirmed as shipped when you receive a ‘completed’ email, meaning your order has been checked by a pharmacist and dispatched.

Payment will usually be taken by H.A McParland LTD at the time that goods are dispatched (except for payments using Paypal and Google Checkout which are debited to the customer account at the time of placing the order). Where a customer payment is subsequently rejected or returned for any reason, the customer will be responsible for providing prompt alternative means of payment. In the event of default, reasonable collection charges and/or solicitors' fees will be added to the customer's account.


We value our customer service very highly and aim to get things right first time. 

Where there has been a problem with any aspect of our service provided to you, your feedback gives us a chance to put things right when mistakes have been made and allows us to improve the quality of our service and prevent any recurrence.

Where you are dissatisfied with our informal response, we want you to feel comfortable about lodging a formal complaint. We would define this as ‘any clear expression of dissatisfaction with the standard of our service which calls for a response’. 


Complaints should be made in writing identifying the following:

  • The nature of the complaint
  • Who has been involved to date
  • What has / has not been done
  • How you would like to see the matter resolved
  • If you are making the complaint on behalf of the patient, you must provide us with the patient’s written consent before we continue with an investigation in to the complaint.

What Happens Next

You will receive a written acknowledgement within three working days with advice on how your complaint will be handled and when to expect an answer. 

Complaints are treated confidentially. However it may be necessary for the complaints manager to discuss confidential information with staff. They will only do this as far as is necessary to investigate the complaint.

We hope that the formal response will resolve the matter to your satisfaction. However if you remain dissatisfied with our response, you do have the right to take your complaint further. Details will be included with our formal response.


Delivery Options:

Standard Delivery (2 to 5 Working Days) Royal Mail Tracked - £2.95

Orders dispatched using Standard Delivery can take between 2 to 5 working days to arrive. Standard Delivery orders are dispatched using the Royal Mail Tracked Service. This is a priority service with a tracking number so you can follow the progress of your order on its journey to you. You will be required to sign for the parcel so please ensure that you are available at your delivery address between 9am and 5pm on your expected delivery day. (see Tracking My Order) Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day (subject to stock availability)

Special Delivery Next Day (Next Working Day)**

This is our express delivery option and orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday will be usually be dispatched the same day using Royal Mail Special Delivery for a guaranteed next working day delivery. This service has a tracking number for your parcel so you can follow your orders progress on its journey to you (see Tracking My Order). You will be required to sign for the parcel so please ensure that you are available at your delivery address between 9am to 5pm on your expected delivery day. Please be aware this service is not gauranteed on a Saturday in some areas and you item may be delivered on the following monday if ordered after 2pm on Thursday.

**If for some unforseen reason we cannot dispatch you order for next day delivery we will inform you either by phone or e-mail, by 3pm on the day you place your order,using the details you provide us with.

Why do we require a signature for our orders?

We pride ourselves on a high level of after sales customer service, this means that, unlike some online companies, we care about our customers. We do our best to ensure that you receive the items you have paid for in a timely fashion and in excellent condition. In order for us to do this effectively we have a "sign for all orders" policy, this means that both you the customer and us the retailer are covered when it comes to the rare event that an item goes missing or is not delivered.

In these circumstances, if we have signature evidence, we can be very prompt in either directing you to the whereabouts of your parcel or if necessary re-sending the items to you. The signature allows us to do this as we are able to mitigate some of the hazards of online retail such as fraudulent claims of non-delivery and lost items.

As an experienced online retailer we understand that this can cause inconvenience in a few cases, but it is the best way we have found to maintain competitive prices and excellent customer service.

Packaging :

All Orders are packaged discretely and securely so that your products reach you in a pristine condition. Please be sure to check the contents of your order as soon as it arrives and ensure that you have checked all the contents against your enclosed invoice.

Delivery Terms and Conditions :

If your order is returned to us by Royal Mail because either you have failed to collect or re-arrange delivery for your item or you have provided us with an inaccurate delivery address, a handling charge of £2.95 may be payable.

Delivery confirmation is provided to us for every order by Royal Mail.

If a signature is required for your parcel and you are not available to sign for it, Royal Mail will leave a "while you were out" card with instructions to collect your parcel or to re-arrange delivery.

How and Where we deliver

We deliver solely within the UK. Once received, your order is put together by our qualified staff, and where appropriate, by our pharmacists who are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Orders are generally dispatched by Royal Mail or by Courier. Royal Mail recorded or Couriers will require a signature, and will deliver between 9am and 5pm on weekdays only. Please specify an address where someone will be able to sign for your goods between these hours. We reserve the right to change postal methods if circumstances require it. Occasionally your order will be sent in multiple dispatches (e.g. due to stock levels, difficult to package goods, etc.). Every effort will be made to deliver within the time stated. Returns Policy

If for any reason you are not happy with a product please contact us within 14 days of its arrival. We will then provide you with a Returns Authorisation enabling you to return the goods to us. Please do not return goods to us without first obtaining a Returns Authorisation. Goods must be returned within 28 days of arrival in their original packaging and must have not been tampered with in any way. Some of our products, due to hygiene reasons, are non-returnable and non-refundable, these include products of a medicinal, cosmetic or personal nature. 

Once we have received the goods we will process a refund to your credit/debit card. Please note that the postage charge will not be refunded. If an item is returned because you no longer require or want the item we will deduct £2.95 from the refund to cover our postage charges. However, a full refund (including postage) will be applied to items that were incorrectly delivered or are faulty.

Please note we are unable to accept returns for medicines unless the items were incorrectly delivered or are faulty. This is due to regulations which prevent us from reselling any returned medicinal items. All returned items of this nature will be destroyed.

Cancellation Policy

Once an order has been placed, you may cancel this order at anytime prior to the order being marked as shipped and completed in your account area by using the available button to do this. However, once an order is marked as completed this order will be delivered to the address provided, and the order will require returning in line with the above Returns Policy.

WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge. The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

Recycling reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

H.A McParland Ltd is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.

Customers must return their like-for-like WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item. Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.


We may change or withdraw any part of our website, or may refuse you access to the website at any time if we consider it necessary.

If any of these terms and conditions are held to be invalid, then the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.

NHS Prescription Service

All NHS Prescription Services provided by H.A McPArland LTD are provided on a "best endeavours" basis. Requests made electronically from this website will be forwarded to your doctor as soon as possible. Due to the range of third party networks and innovative technology used for this transmission we are unable to guarantee a time of arrival of the request at your Doctor's surgery or absolutely guarantee that it will arrive at all. You are responsible for determining and checking if this request has been received.

H.A McParland LTD will endeavour to ensure that all Prescription Only Medicines (POM) prices are correct on the website. In some cases the prices may vary due to manufacturer price increase, product availabilty and/or special order requirement. In such cases H.A McParland LTD will contact you on reciept of the prescription to inform you of any price difference.

We are legally only able to dispense medicines for you when we have received either an electronic prescription which has been digitally signed by a prescribing doctor or alternatively a conventional paper prescription signed in writing by a prescribing doctor. Prescriptions are issued entirely at the discretion of the prescriber. H.A McParland Ltd cannot guarantee that a request for a prescription made through the NHS Prescription Service will result in a prescription being issued by the prescriber.

We are not responsible for failure of third party companies' inability to deliver medicines to the correct address or within any particular time or date. You are responsible for signing for packages containing medicines but any signature provided by third parties at the delivery address given by yourself will be deemed to be receipt of the medicines and fulfillment of H.A McParland Ltd's obligations in dispensing that prescription.

You are responsible for providing written evidence of current and valid exemption from payment or alternatively providing valid credit or debit card details which may be charged if you are not exempt from payment. We reserve the right to not deliver medicines to you if your exemption or payment details have expired or are invalid in any way. In such cases we will attempt to contact you in such instances to enable you to provide updated information to allow us to dispense the prescription.

If your prescription medicines appear to be damaged or if the delivery appears to be wrong then please contact 01753 551780. We will make every effort to replace any damaged products.

Privacy Policy

We use the information we collect about you to ensure you receive

For patients who wish to use our NHS Prescription service we will need to know whether you pay for your NHS prescriptions and if not the reason that you are exempt from payment. Additionally, we will collect information about your existing medical conditions and any prescription medication that are prescribed for you by your doctor.

We will collect and store details of all medicines and other products we supply to you, and also all medicines that you or your doctor tell us you may be supplied on repeat prescription.

How do we use it?

We may occasionally use the information we collect to notify you about important functionality changes on the web site and promotions we think you'll find valuable. You may notify us that you do not wish to receive this promotional information at registration, or at any time by following the instructions on the emails you receive.

We will use the information to look after your healthcare as best we can, and that may mean us contacting you in certain circumstances that are relevant to your ongoing care.
Will H.A McParland LTD disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
We may disclose information to outside parties if we are required by law to do so. For example prescribers must be notified where a patient presents a repeat prescription and the pharmacist becomes aware of clinically significant issues arising in connection with that prescription. We are also permitted by law to disclose information where the public interest overrides the need to keep the information confidential.

Anyone who receives information from us also has a legal duty to keep this information confidential, subject to recognised exceptions of the types listed above.

Your telephone number or email address may be used to contact you about your prescriptions or related pharmacy services. Your personal details will not be used for anything besides the purpose of arranging and communicating with you the details of your prescription, availability of pharmacy services, and maintaining the prescription collection and electronic service.

Your Consent

If we decide to change our data protection policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, and how we use it.

Your Rights

All of our staff contracts of employment contain a requirement to keep patient information confidential.

Your right to view your health record You have the right to ask for a copy of all the information we store about you.

There may be a charge to have a printed copy of the information held about you. Your request must be made in writing to H.A McParland LTD. We are required to respond to your request within 40 days.

You will need to give adequate information in order for pharmacy staff to identify you (for example, full name, address and date of birth). You will be required to provide ID, for example a passport, full driving license or credit/debit card before any information is released to you.
